Exotic Hunting for Big Game in Texas
An animal that many hunters would love to shoot down while exotic hunting is the aoudad. A relative of the sheep family, this animal is a native of northern Africa around the dry mountainous areas. They were first brought to Texas in the late 1950s and quickly became established around the Palo Duro Canyon.

The aoudad, also known as the Barbary sheep, is a large sheep that has outward, backwards curving horns that point inward as it comes to the tip. Around the throat, chest, and underside there is a growth of long hair. The males can weight up to 145 kilograms while the females usually only get up to 65 kilograms.

Exotic hunting is a great family activity that can easily be turned into a vacation. There are many ranches that will allow you to hunt on their grounds and give you a room to stay in, food to eat, and transportation to and from certain hunting sites. Hunters can find hunting packages online, where they can book their stay very easily.
